If you’re dealing with ASRock, make sure you get one of the models of RAM that the board supports. They are hilariously unforgiving if you get a brand not on the list, but otherwise meets all specs.
As such, neither of my two new builds work.

pro tip, use a 90s beige ATX case for your next build! sleeper builds FTW

I currently have a nonfunctioning ASRock build, too. But my RAM is on their list and it functioned for a week before I got stuck in a boot-loop.

That’s very odd, ASRock has been very good at accepting various brands and configurations on the boards I have personally used. Stay away from Gigabyte though their customer service is shit and their upper tier boards have hilariously bad fail rates.

PC GPU buyers guide for beginners;
1) Look up GPUs and their associated prices
2) Chose your explatives
3) Cry
4) Be dead inside while you game at 640x480@20 fps with your built in motherboard GPU
5) (veteran GPU buyers only) set a cryptominer’s house on fire.

I very nearly stole a horizontal tower from my neighbor. I’m running X9950 on a AOpen PoS and pulling 2k...you’d be surprised how much you can wring out of a really basic system.

My PoS is running 2.86 Ghz Duo-Core with 4 GB GPU, but I’m pushing an AOpen horizontal shit. Got 8 GB of un-buffered RAM for $10, but it won’t fit in my tower, QuadCore 2.8 5 Ghz. Any ideas?

Looks like the issue is with their newer H110 boards?
The Deskmini is seemingly unforgiving

The H110M ITX is better, but searching those model numbers often comes up short.

I ended just getting a pair Corsair sticks with model numbers from the approved ram list. That should revolve the posting issues.

What board? It seems their ITX models are sorta reviewed at having short lifespans.

Z730M Pro4. It’s a mATX board for 8th gen Intel.
I am just outside the return period though, so I may have to just try putting in a warranty claim or something and hoping it all works out.
